Mayan temple inside the Aztec temple. :O Now you know what's inside those pyramids.

A Series of the Mexican Pavilion at Epcot. I'm rather disturbed by this particular pavilion, because I know the history of the Aztecs and others. Ew........ But I suppose it does look imposing to have that temple looming over World Showcase.

The structures are very impressive, but the hint at human sacrifice leaves me a bit queasy. :(

I'm not surprised, especially considering how inaccurate the Greece scene in Spaceship Earth is.

Well, I know quite a bit about Aztec and Mayan history, and knowing that these cultures practiced human sacrifice and cannibalism, they weird me out. Not what I'd like to associate modern Mexico with.

I do think the pavilion is well designed though. And what's funny is that most of the things are still pretty cheap by American standards. Especially in comparison to what the merchandise in the Norwegian pavilion costs. :faint:

Wel..yeah they did practice all those things..and it waas awful...but those were their beliefs..not that i agreee with it..it's awful and disturbing yes, but for them it wasnrt..and besides, the mayan culture it's truly amazing...have you ever been to any mayan ruins? it's really incredible to see everything they did, all of their studies, their hugee knowledge of astronomy without telescopes and all the techonolgy, their advanced coutning systems, it's really, really impressive.

Are they really cheaper? God! Hahaha...all of my friends and I were likee thiis thing for three bucks! -when I went there I went with 10 friends and it was soooo much fun because the mariachi started playing a song typical form where we livee and we were all dancing..
you know...I'd really wish that everyone could see mexico's lifestyle for what it really is and not for the prejudice they've got. It's really not like they paint it.

Yes, the merchandise in the Mexican pavilion is the cheapest stuff you can buy in the whole park. :giggle:

Very true. We used to calculate the profit margin on bottled water just for fun. Pack of 24 bottles at the super market - about $7. 24 bottles at $3 at the parks... $72. They do know how to make the $$$ at Disney :lmao:
